UMTO’s takeover at SPOT Festival, capturing youth-driven production, collaboration, and live cultural energy.
UMTO (Ungemiljøernes Takeover) brought together youth environments from across Denmark to co-create and operate a large-scale programme during SPOT Festival. The project aimed to document this temporary but highly concentrated collaboration — focusing not only on performances, but on the organisational, technical, and social layers behind the scenes.
The visual approach followed the process closely, moving between preparation, coordination, and live moments. Emphasis was placed on collective effort, transitions between venues, and the intensity of real-time decision-making. Rather than isolating individual acts, the film treats UMTO as one interconnected system operating inside the festival framework.
